We will be reading "Mr. Tanen's Tie Trouble." This is a realistic fiction story about how helping others can make you feel good. We will focus on the comprehension skill of understanding the characters in the story. We will also work on inferring/predicting strategies. Our grammar skill is replacing nouns with pronouns.
Spelling words for the week of January 5 - 8 are posted on <www.spellingcity.com/knightc/> under "Mr. Tanen's Tie Trouble." We are studying base words with -ed, -ing endings. When a word has one vowel followed by a single consonant, we usually double the consonant before adding the ending -ed or -ing.
